Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’ Hits The Number 1 Spot
June 25, 2013The results are in from the June 18th battle between Kanye West, J Cole & Mac Miller and sees ‘Yeezus’ taking the number 1 spot after shifting 328,800 copies. J Cole’s ‘Born Sinner’ came 2nd with 297,922 copies which is a great look for Cole as is for Mac Miller who sold 101,795 copies via the independent label Rostrum Records.
Yeezus may of topped the charts but considering it only sold 31,000 more then ‘Born Sinner’ it looks like Cole’s risk of going up against Kanye West definitely paid off. What’s more telling is that neither artist really had a heavy rotating radio single and yet all of them landed in the top 3 best sellers which just shows how unimportant radio play is becoming.
