MTV Best Of The Best: UK MC’s 2011

January 23, 2012

So earlier tonight MTV revealed their top 5 UK MC’s of 2011 with Wretch 32 taking the number 1 spot!

After being blanked by the Brits and Mobos Wretch finally gets the recognition he deserves after releasing one of the strongest albums of last year in “Black And White”.

Wretch has definitely proved that you can gain commercial success without questioning the credibility of your music and will be exciting to see what he comes with in 2012. Check out the complete list below:

1. Wretch 32
2. K Koke
3. Pro Green
4. Chipmunk
5. Giggs
6. Ghetts
7. Lowkey
8. Skepta
9. Krept And Konan
10. DVS / Blade Brown

I’m surprised not to see Tinie on the list even though he released “Disc-overy” in 2010 his presence has still been strong throughout the year and has been the most successful UK MC to take on the American market, maybe he has become to successful to be considered for the list? What’s your thoughts do you agree with the final top 10?

MTV’S Best Of The Best: Uk Mc’s 2011

January 22, 2012

So it’s that time again where MTV countdown their top 10 UK Mc’s of 2011 starting off with spots 10 to 6 and here it is:

6. Ghetts
7. Lowkey
8. Skepta
9. Krept And Konan
10. Blade Brown / DVS

Ghetts finds himself placed at number 6 after being excluded last year but I expected him to be placed higher as I did with Blade Brown after dropping the classic mixtape “Financial Times” who was placed joint 10th with DVS.

So who do you think will make the top 5 ? I think Wretch, Giggs and Koke will definitely be up there with the top spot going to Tinie, tune in to MTV Base on Monday to find out!
