It looks like Interscope dropped the ball on Kendrick Lamar’s new album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ by accidentally releasing it on iTunes a week ahead of it’s supposed release date and TDE aren’t a happy camp regarding this error and took to Twitter to vent their frustrations. I’m not sure it will impact the album in anyway as the project is highly anticipated and in this day and age a scheduled release date is now a pre historic way to unload new music you only have to look at Drake’s recent success with ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ to know this is the case for an established artist. You can no longer purchase the album on iTunes though as they’ve put it back to it’s original date but by now I imagine it’s all over the net, you can peep the Spotify stream below and support the album via iTunes.

Kendrick Lamar took to Instagram and unveiled artwork to his forthcoming album as well as revealing the release date of March 23rd and hinting that the title will be called ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’.
After scooping up two Grammy’s for his cut ‘i’ over the weekend Kendrick Lamar gets back to business by unleashing the follow up single ‘The Blacker The Berry’ featuring Assassin. The single finds K Dot as always dropping conscious lyrics as he tackles the subject of race and also his own issues over a booming production from Boi-1da.

It’s no secret during recent interviews that Drake feels a particular way about Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Control’ verse and its clearly struck a nerve with K Dot as he uses this years BET’s Cypher to fire some subliminal shots towards Drizzy as he spits:
“Yeah and nothing’s been the same since they dropped “Control”/ And tucked a sensitive rapper back in his Pajama Clothes/ Ha-ha jokes on you, high-five I’m bulletproof/ Your sh*ts a never penetrate, pin the tail on the donkey boy you been a fake.”

Big Sean gave Funk Flex a gem last night when he let him premiere his new track ‘Control (HOF)’ featuring Kendrick Lamar & Jay Electronica.
It’s safe to say K Dot steals the show as he drops one of the best verses in recent memory and proclaims himself as the king of New York and controversially name checks various rappers to chase his crown. Considering most of the MCs he name checks are rappers that he respects it’s hard to call it a diss track more like friendly fire to shake up the game and in an era where every rapper is on each others dick it’s a refreshing change.
Unfortunately due to sample clearance the No I.D produced track will not feature on Sean’s forthcoming album ‘Hall Of Fame’ which I’m sure Jay Electronica is pleased about as he clearly has the weakest verse which apparently was recorded a few months ago. When will rappers learn that in order to not get bodied on a posse cut be sure to all be in the studio at the same time lol.
