Nas continued to celebrate 20 years of ‘Illmatic’ by premiering his ‘Time Is Illmatic’ documentary at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival which was introduced by Robert Deniro. After the screening Nas went on to perform the album in full which you can peep below.

Nas’ younger brother Jungle takes VIBE’s Mikey Fresh to the Queensbridge projects where he and his brother grew up and show the spot where their best friend Ill-Will was gunned down which inspired Nas to turn his rap dreams in to a reality.

Nas Performs ‘Illmatic’ @ Coachella & Brings Out JAY Z

With the 20 year anniversary of Nas’ classic album ‘Illmatic’ fast approaching the Queensbridge MC took to the Coachella stage and performed the masterpiece in it’s entirety. Nas also brought out JAY Z on stage who performed ‘Dead Presidents’ & ‘Where I’m From’ and finished off the set with “Made You Look”, “Hate Me Now” with Diddy & “One Mic”.

It’s only right that Nas celebrates the 20th anniversary of his classic album ‘Illmatic’ in style and not only will the Queensbridge MC be re-releasing the album but he will also be dropping a special documentary titled ‘Time Is Illmatic’ which will delve in to the making of the masterpiece. The premiere will take place at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival on April 16 with the album dropping April 15th.
